Can I make a suggestion that doesn't involve violence, or is this the wrong crowd for that?

Absolutely brilliant. Absolutely, absolutely brilliant. If for some reason the production isnt that good, be sure to dig up a copy of the movie. It was directed by Tom Stoppard and contains a few extra scenes. Well worth the trouble it takes to find

I whole-heartedly agree - the way it runs it tandem with and intertwines with Hamlet is brilliant and the witty banter between Gary Oldman and Tim Roth is first class.

My first Chaplin! I knew a bit about Landru going in to it, and although Chaplin says it isnt really based on anybody, its pretty obvious that it is. Really interesting film though. I am not if it would do well now though. - not that it did well back then! The comments on capitalism are interesting. Hehehehe can see why it was hated!
