Looks like a Timbo level production. Ill wait for the BBC version. Yeah, American studios never get British stories like anything from HG Wells stuff right [ as we've seen to our disgust ] and if it's anything like you know who's crap [ I won't mention his name to give as little publicity for them as possible ] then I'll give it a wide berth.

I probably won't be able to see the film from where I am, but it looks very fascinating.
It would be lovely to see WotW done like that.

Well, the BBC did HG proud. It was an excellent adaption and Mark Gatiss in particular was on top form. The War with the World drama starring Michael Sheen as HG after it was also excellent.

I missed this totally, i will have to watch it on iPlayer.
On saturday i went up to Londoin with somne friends to see the sights and we paid a visit to the Movie Museum of London right next to the London eye. They had a Ray Harryhausen display with most of his beautiful model miniatures on display including the ones he did from the Men in the Moon! Missed on one, gained in another!

It was very good. Gatiss was brilliant as Cavor. selenites were nicely done, though I did miss the moon-calf, but I suppose they had a lot to cram into 90 minutes.

Yes, I thought it was wonderful stuff. And Sheen as Wells seemed far more believeable watching it second time around than when it was first broadcast (2008, was it?) My girlfriend is trying to persuade me to shave my beard into a Gatiss/Cavorite set of muttonchops ... hmm ... not sure about that

Out of curiosity did people think that Wells' 'free love' ideas and actions were downplayed, exaggerated or about right in the Michael Sheen dramatisation?

I watched the dramatisation out of curiosity, and I thought most aspects were, if slightly downplayed, well portrayed. Sheen showed Wells' emotional tendencies very compassionately I thought.
