The Leather i have for the handle fits perfect as is. Ive put a layer of rubber sealant under the handle and put the leather over the top. The handle is hollow and ive dug out what i think is a suitable end cap for it.

that would be cool. have you thought of modifying actual guns, such as pellet guns or bb guns to make those blasters? I'm reluctant to do that for one main reason: A modified gun usually looks like a modified gun. You need considerable skill to turn a Stirling into a Stormtrooper Blaster or a Tommy Gun into a Pulse rifle. Scratch building it gives the weapon a pure 100% original look. My blaster looks like a gun, but its just that little bit alien as in not human or used high tech components rather than anything contemporary.

Its coming along, the handle is sorted, i got a switch for the cocking lever and I've even found a spring for the gun trigger pull! There is even a mini magazine that fits into the bottom bit.

Looking good! The skin on the butt adds an organic juxtaposition to the rest of the components. Nice mix of matt and semi-gloss finishes.
