Nerf and the rest of us want this forum to be a relaxed environment where moderators seldom have to intervene. We want free expression and everyone to just generally respect each other's views and opinions. When people start attacking each other then we have to intervene as we want everyone to enjoy their time on this forum and we want people to keep coming back, not for them to feel alienated for their views. Some people hate this film and some people like it. Discuss it by all means, but stop getting personal. EVERYONE on here is entitled to their opinion and EVERYONE should respect everyone elses opinion whether they agree with it or not.
Wasted, I hope you come back and find a more relaxed and tolerant atmosphere when you do.

You know, I don't want to have to be harsh here. Like m'colleague Richie says, I want everyone to feel relaxed and to have a good time while visiting and I'm trying to introduce an environment where people can pretty much look after themselves. We're all grown-ups here, right? That said, a member of this site has been made to feel that he has to take a break because their views have been slated. This is NOT acceptable. I think it's pretty obvious that this thread is clearly meant to look at Hine's magnificent octopus from a positive point of view. So let's keep it that way. If some of you really want to vent your spleens about it, do so. But get your own damn thread to do it on. Seriously, one, much-loved, site has already closed because of this kind of shit and I am not going to put up with it. There will be no pro or anti- Hines factions waging war on this board. If this carries on, and if need be, I will ban ALL discussion of this topic on this board... and I'm sure you don't want that. So, lets cut the crap and play nice. Thanks!  |

Hi peeps, back at last! To start on a positive note - I'd go along with some of what's been said already. The music by Jamie Hall which was good, that scene with the tripod leg striding over the cannon, 1 or 2 shots of the tripods legs moving about and I like the style of writing on the HGWTWOTW title.

With respect, the thread DID start on a positive note. If you wanted the thread to REMAIN positive, you should have titled it something like POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY - NO NEGATIVITY. EVER. AT ALL. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. NO. NAUGHTY... NO! Yep- just like you to make a joke out of it. I've got completely bored of all these negative Hines posts in the last forum, which is why I wanted something different to start this one off with. Even the same jokes keep propping up, like a broken record. I'm bored of it, and I'm taking a break. Cya. Sorry you feel that way, bye. But unless you take up Ashe Ravens offer of draconian moderation banning any anti hinds comments then people will say a few things. Personally i think the comments on here prior to wasteds tirade were in good humour and restrained. Its not our fault you totally lack a sence of humour. On a close knit forum like this there will always be a certain degree of ribbing and fun poking. To go draconian will totally undermine that feeling and scare even more people away. |

Saying you hate a film is one thing. Being antihines, thats your business, If you can't see what the problem is, then I won't say anymore except to say for the upmtih time, I HATED THIS MOVIE. That doesn't mean I have to agree with your way of hating it. Now please take the advice and let it rest. How many times can you say the ssame thng over and over and over again? You know. I wrote a long treatise as to why we should all get along, and how we are a community and so on. But, after my Moderator Colleague and I appealed for calm, which seems to have fallen on deaf ears, I realised that I can't be arsed to babysit you lot. So fuck it.
Therefore, ANY discussion of Tim Hines film on this board is now banned. End of.
I will not give any further space to Tim Hines and I will not watch you cut chunks out of each other over his 'film'. So there.
If you don't like this, then I will be willing to hear, from either side of this debacle, why I should have my board torn apart like WotWonline was. And it better be good.
