If I do get any info though, perhaps I should put it somewhere else other than on this thread which is supposed to be about Pendragons effort (did we get side-tracked somewhere??)

Threads always get side tracked. It's like a damn goldfish convention around here at times (and, yes, I do know that that thing about them is apparantly a fallacy). I think that's part of the fun so long as it doesn't go too far off track.

If the moderators forced us to stay on topic this place wouldn't be *nearly* as much fun. Or as someone recently posted in RichardBurton's "Holiday" thread, where else can you see discussion go from Ancient Egyptian monuments to a picture of dancing mice?

I’ve only seen the first DVD release and I have to admit, I actually liked it and so did my little brother. I tend to consider this version to be more of an illustrated story and less of an actual movie. Are any of the newer releases better than the first release?
(off topic) By the way, has anyone here seen the Russian import of the new “Highlander” film yet?

The Directors Cut (the first release of the Directors Cut at least) is NOT better imo. Yes it is shorter. It is also butchered beyond belief, with the worst editing I have ever seen- yes, worse than the 3 hour original. The only thing the DC has going for it, is an added montage of the journalists time with the artillery man- drinking and playing cards etc towards the end. It was a scene that really should have been in the original, but it is still too short at only a minute or so in length.

lol. Yes imo it's worse. At least with the original 3 hour version you had time (perhaps a little too much time) to take in a scene before it moves on to the next. In the DC, you have no time at all- it moves on before you know where you are, who you are, and what in Moses' name you are doing!

No that's in my version too BM. A little extra day-to-night clip while the crowd are looking at the heat ray device sticking out of the cylinder, some green gas effect over the 'burning' skeletons to cover their embarrasing prancing about, an extra minute-long montage with the artillery man towards the end, and that's about it regarding extras from what I remember.

I had the three hour version, the only real problem I had with it was the jerky film movement; it looked like a youTube video blown up to fit the TV.

Oh well, I suppose the only way that they could fix that would be to do some major digital reconstruction, I doubt that they have that kind of money.

Apparently it might have been intentional- to make the look of the film more oldy-worldy. It doesn't work like it should though, agreed.
