Sorry I was just messing around then, nah I've just never really got into the whole Stargate business, I enjoyed the first film (assuming there have been more than 1? shows how much I know) but never seen the episodes in their entirety (sp?) everyone seems to go on about them so maybe I'll catch them some time and see what I think  |

I loved SG1 until RDA left. I'm also a big fan of the Film too. Ive never got into Atlantis, the characters were pale in comparison to the wonderful characters of SG1. Its nice though that Amanda Tapping has returned to Atlantis. Talking of Amanda Tapping... Cough...  Enough to get my Goua'uld going...  |

way way way way late reply here lol , over a year. i wish atlantis had 1 more season, and i say the same thing about st enterprise, and i heard that there is gonna be a straight to dvd movie of stargate atlantis. any new news on that? i saw something about it on wikipediea or wiki.

I remember watching the Stargate movie (it came out the week before ST: Generations I think, which was what I really wanted to see), and thought it was a quite good film. Not great though. When I heard there was a series I imagined that would be awful (like the Robocop or Highlander series).
Anyway, it took me a while to watch any episodes of SG1, but when I did I loved them! What I really loved was the interaction between the characters, the humour and the tongue-in-cheekness of it all.
It never seemed to take itself too seriously and never got too pretentious with the science/technobabble, which unfortunately was a failing of Trek (a typical Star Trek episode involved the engineers spending half the show explaining in excruciating detail what their plan was, and then it not working so they have to quickly think of something else... but not before they've all been to see the counseller to sort out how they feel about it all... grrrr...).

I'm a fan and the original SG1 is a great show, but the new one, Stargate SGU is PHENOMENAL!!! And yes, Amanda tapping is gorgeous ... even moreso in her role as Helen Magnus on Sanctuary.  |

I think Amanda tapping has got more gorgeous the older she gets, plus shes gone brunette! Cough! Yum! I think this thread should be renames the Amanda Tapping fan club! |
