Agreed, the sex scenes were unnecessary but I think they were there because films based on "comics" have a childish stigma attached to them and the sex scenes are there to counteract that, In the western world if you say comic you automatically think of something a little kid would read, this is no longer the case. I think it's because it was in the novel. Chap 7, 27 & 28 |

Agreed, Waltp. The film was quite faithful to the novel (except the ending)
