Bit of a downturn today I'm afraid. After talking to a representative of the charity, it would seem that I'm not allowed to use their logo. Further into the conversation I was told I'm not allowed to mention their name whatsoever in conjunction with the project!! Due to "new guidelines" within the charity only large corporate companies are allowed to mention their name in association with fund raising. It bloody stinks! I've got so far with the project, then I'm scuppered by the very charity that I'm trying to support! Bureaucratic bullshit strikes again. I'm bloody fuming!!

Right so they would willingly accept any money you raise for them but you cant say that it's them you are raising it for?! That's exactly the case. I'm going to contact cancer care charities methinks.

That is absolutely ludicrous!!!! It makes absolutely no sense at all! There are millions of small enterprises and individuals planning to raise money for Children In Need, but they don't have this problem. It stinks - find another worthy cause who will be happy for the help.

I received an interesting voicemail today from a representative of Cancer Research. It seems that they (local representatives) are trying their best to persuade the people in charge of the charity to accept my initial wishes to support the cause, and go ahead with the project as planned. I'll hear the result next Tuesday. I really hope they see sense and allow me to work with them.

Nothing makes ones head hurt more than a bunch of bureaucratic circle jerks messing a simple thing up. Here's hoping they get their act together and recognize a good deed for what it is.
