Time After Time

Came across this film from the late 70s recently.

Basically Jack the Ripper uses H.G.Wells time machine to escape the police in 19th Century London and arrives in contemporary Los Angeles.

I've seen this a couple of times, but it must be a good 10+ years since I last saw it. It was very good. Don't know whether it'd be a bit dated now, but certainly the last time I saw it it was still good and had a lot of suspense.

EDIT - having just watched the trailer I have to say that the movie is nothing like it is depicted in that trailer. It is a lot darker and sinister. The trailer makes it look a lot more light-hearted than it actually is.
