Hmmm- I agree. There is something at the back of my mind that thinks- this could be OK.
But then another part says TREK.
Then another part, rather alarmingly, says Karl Urban as Bones!!! ? I know the acting was hammy- that was part of the fun. But he's just bloody awful!
I will eat my words if I'm wrong tho!

Yep, the revamped Enterprise looks great, note the considerably larger Bussard Ramscoops.

Isn't that Sylar from Heroes playing Spock? he's definately got the look. and Simon Pegg is Scotty right? I seem to recall reading that.
The ship is beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous.
The flaw in the film, as it is being griped out over here by Trekkies, is that the story in the film screws up the continuity of the Star Trek universe. If anything that is what will kill it over here.

I do like a nice pair of nacelles!
But MST- apart from the first 6 movies, didn't every story somehow screw with the continuity of the 'trek universe' as time went on? I seem to remember some gaping issues with First Contact and some gripes made about the same thing in Enterprise (never really saw that though- lost interest in Trek after 1st season of Voyager).
Come to think of it- I would love to have seen some continuation of previous movie stories- like the new being from Motion Picture, frinstance. Could have made a decent scifi story, as well as a good trek story. But there you go.
I'm not getting too involved with the pre-movie stuff on this one- in the way of not getting particularly excited and not being too down on it either.
Karl Urban, though.
Karl Urban....! Cuh.
I stand (and hope) to be corrected though!

I love the Enterprise. There really is something about that ship that pleases the eye. And the later versions got better still. My fave is probably the Enterprise C... which, as far as I am aware, only got one outing in a time travel episode of TNG. Lovely looking ship. Had the only female Captain too (Captain Garret, if you care). Here's a quiz.... who knows anything about the Enterprise M? Eh? Anyway, enough of the Trek porn. Pegg as Scotty. Genius. The guy breathes gold onto everything he touches. Karl Urban? Well... he was ok in 'Doom', I thought. This I am looking forward to. The early adventures of the original crew we all grew up with. Can it go wrong... well, can it? Shit, I REALLY hope not. Btw, 2 photos? They really got that shit locked down! Peggy was on Jonathan Ross a few weeks back and said he wasn't even allowed to do the Scotty voice or he might be up on a charge. Madness. I did like the shipyard teaser that came out a while back though.
