This is a project ive been working on and off for a while. Ive placed this project in the 'WOTW fan creathon board because of the fact ive based the bad guys loosly on the Martians.'
The concept is a collection of stories with many of my pictures to illustrate them.
Synopsis:
"Its 400 years from now. Mankind has colonised the Solar System after discovering a drive that can take starship across the system in only a couple of weeks.
The biggest jewel in the colonial crown is Mars. Massive corporate and Governmental investment has terraformed Mars into a warm 'new Earth' with seas, breathable atmosphere and thick green vegetation.
Automated towers create the atmosphere and huge solar stations reflect the suns light and warmth many times to the surface.
The protagonist is a young fighter pilot that fought in the corporate wars. Embittered by his POW incarceration and returning home ony to find everything he left behind is gone he signs on with an expedition to fly fighters for an exploration vessel: a huge former military class zepplin style airship refitted for exploration.
This airship 'the Goddess' and its crew are a mix of scientists, explorers and mercenaries hired to investigate sightings of strange vehicles and creatures in a dangerous cavernous little explored part of Mars.
What they discover will turn Mars into a battlefield between two advanced races: the humans and the original inhabitance of Mars, and they want their world back and neither side intends to surrender."
I'm almost finished putting together the last of my notes and ideas and i'm going to start writing it all up soon. I've done a few sketches too which i will put up of two of the Martian vehicles the Martian Manta tank and the Bat class attack fighter. I'm not using tripods I'm using heavily updated versions of the 50's movie hover machine.
The Martians come in two flavours: humanoid type aliens that are used as slave labour and cannon fodder soldiers, all drugged and mind altered by the real baddies the Martians, squid like creatures that see humans as food, not just blood but like cattle to be butchered.
Their technology is impressive with Meson disruptors and neutron blasters. Humans use advanced railguns lasers and particle weapons. Think Aliens/Space AAB meets WOTW and you got the right idea. I'm not copying the Martians totally, I'm changing a few things about because its my own 'universe' I'm writing but you can see the influence.
The style of writing is like diary form, i'm writing this as if i'm writing about my own thoughts.
I have a few sketches im finishing, i'll put them us in the next day of so.
