cheers! I am just sorting out the company website gubbins and I will set aside an area where images and clips can be posted up for approval, criticism, laughing at etc. I greatly respect the opinions of such chaps (-ettes) as your good selves and will happily work with you to make sure this goes in the correct direction although the final say does go to my wife who will beat me soundly if the fighting machines are not pink with martian fluffy dice in the window... (actually Im very lucky, she is a huge wotw/scifi fan too..).So....i'll go and get on with it and post the address up as soon as poss! much respect  |

by the way, I know that some of you are very much into the CGI and film-making side of things so If anyone wants to work on some elements of this project it may be worth getting in touch and giving me an idea on what you would like to do? There is a lot of dedication and talent on here so it would be a shame not to use it.

Sounds like a good idea, unfortunately all my spare time is taken up at the moment with another project, but when I've finished it I would like to get involved. I have only recently started playing around with 3D images so my work is not anywhere near as good as the pictures you have posted to date, but I am getting better at it. |

It will need more tentacles if we're sticking close to the original book, but it's a good model to start with. And as I just said on your other thread, 'I do like the translucent marble effect you have created for the skin'.

Well in my movie I am sticking to 8 tenticals, more because it would take me forever to animate all 16 for a mere animated movie, creative license  . But it can house 16 with no trouble and the file is free so you can edit it all you like, or have me do it for you bearing in mind my time restraints |

Just saw the trailer. This is really, really well done. The Tripods blend in magnificently with the background, and the effects are superb. If this ever becomes a full-length feature, I'm definitely interested. |

Yep, that is absolutely fantastic! Very cool to see the "true" Thunder Child. Love the FM design. Personally I would not have used the many eyes in the FM hood though, because this is something so obvious that Wells would have included it in his description in the novel. And he hasn't. But hey, thats just me Keep it up, cant wait for more! |

Im putting chunks of info up on t' website just in case anyone wants to trawl through it. Thanks for the feedback everyone, honestly. In answer to Thunderchild, im not sure if HG had an absolute design in his head personally as he hardly describes anything at all in his book (in terms of appearance). He does however use the term "arachnid". I think TRoC picked up on this too. What do others think? Thats why I didn't go for fluid legs ( a la Spielberg ). They seem less insect like. Blimey what a creative minefield. Im going back in time and giving HG a slap and asking him to be more goddam specific! Ive had a think..Im taking on board the opinions... Im going to do an FM mkII 1st...the kettle is going on.. |
