It sounds more promising than the Stallone effort but from what I've read it's like Die Hard 2 stuck in a building and there's virtually zero satire like they had in the comics.
Karl Urban's confirmed he is Dredd last night though. He seems like a good choice.

There is satire but its as dark as the ass end of the moon. The script is very, very violent, I'm talking 18 rated at least. There is a scene where the bad guys are going after Dredd with 3 mini guns and mow down about 50 civilians in the process. |

I don't about Karl Urban as Dredd. I mean has he got the chin to play the part? ;D

What is Judge Dredd about? Judge Dredd is a 22 century lawman. Judge jury and executioner rolled into one. The Judges police Mega City One a giant walled city on the US Atlantic coast which stretches from Boston down to Washington DC. Punch Judge Dredd into google and there is tons of info on Dredd. Hes the UKs longest running comic strip hero. |

Sounds good from what you've said. Where did you see the script? I saw the script on IMDB forums. Although the story remains the same the screenplay has been revised since the origonal script ive been told. |

2012, story is done, script is polished up, filming is expected any time now, late 2011, 2012 early is the expected release times.

I wonder how close they'll stick to his uniform. The Stallone one was ok but the codpiece was a bit suspect and the helmet was slightly awkward looking. |

Yes, they definitely got the helmet wrong. The visor was too big, too open.  If you compare it to the comic book version, and although there has been several different artists over the years they all stick to roughly the same design.  This is what it should look like.  |

This is a teaser clip from a Judge Dredd fan film called Judge Minty all about an aged Judge at the end of his career. Its created by one of the comic strips artists and its still being filmed. Judge Dredd will be making a cameo. Heres the official website. www.judgeminty.com/ |
