Seems the reonvention culture continues. I hope this is as good as BSG

Brilliant, I enjoyed the first series enormously back in the 80s, saw it a couple of years ago and although it was still good it looked dated. will be good to see a new version.

I'm hoping this series makes up for the utter shite that was BSG. Series 1/2 was excellent. Then 3/4 turned into a turgid soap opera where every character was a hateful tosser, the plot was incomprehesible and the best the finale could come up with was 'God did it!'Which is lazy writing at its worst especially in Sci-fi. This ruined my enjoyment of seasons 1/2 so much i sold the box sets and im damned if i will watch re runs.
I will watch V but the second it turns into a BSG clone (which i expect, seeing people hold BSG (fecked knows why) in such high regard) i will be switching right off.

Look i know other people like BSG, but i didn't, I'm not saying i'm right or others are wrong, its all down to personal preference.
If V uses the BSG model of series making I wont be watching. I know many others will and i hope they enjoy it.
I'm not alone in this line of thought, Sci-Fi forums after the finale pratically was in civil war. The series split the forum right down the middle.
It depends on point of view but i hope V isnt over plotted and the characters unsympathetic.

Good lets keep it that way I like BSG you don't, no argument I am concerned this version of V is trying to be too conspiratorial. Too much David Ike for my liking, but we'll see

Too much David Ike for my liking, but we'll see That,s the way the series 4400 went and the way a lot of these Sci/Fi shows go, they start of with a good idea, suddenly realize they have got a golden goose on their hands and try pushing it one series too far and end up alienating (no pun intended) their fans.

Well I some how get the impression that the next batch of sci-fi will suggest that we are not to blame for our own problems... religious overtones anyone?

I loved the original V (the first series was by far the best - they started to slide from there) and I must admit this remake looks pretty good - it's got the budget that the original didn't have which is a start. Plot and acting look pretty good based on the trailer too. Fingers crossed.
