That gets a check mark by kick ass in my book. Great looking model and renders! Tight as always on details, shadows and textures. It's so great to finally see one of your models from so many perspectives.

Rusti, I was so impressed with your Mortis Gunboat I thought I'd have a go with this Google SketchUp. Below is a ship I designed using Paint Shop Pro and I thought I'd have a go at reproducing it in Google SketchUp, but with very little success. I have watched the tutorials and made the basic shapes they show. But when I try to recreate the curved shapes and sloping angles for my ship it just doesn't want to work. Am I making a stupid mistake? or am I expecting too much from a basic 3D program? What do you think?

To be honest such a level is waay advanced for me in SketchUp. It can be done. But i havent got to that stage yet. Something to do with extruding bevelled edges or something. I'm not at that standard yet. Be great if you could. great design mate BTW!

I shall perceiver, the more I play around with the program the more I am able to achieve, usually by accident ;D How long had you been using the program before you created your Mortis Gunboat? Thanks for your help.

Wow! Well done. At the rate I'm going, it'll take me a year to get to that sort of level.

I've been playing around now for about a week with a brilliant 3D program called 'Art of Illusion', (free to download). I tried and liked 'Google sketchUp' but I couldn't do the curved surfaces I wanted, not easily anyway, but with AOI I was creating curved 3D shapes straight away. Below is a faster than light ship I have been working on for about a week, it's not finished yet but about 80% done and I've still got to add the pilot, the seat and the controls.
