I've just seen a preview on AMC for an upcoming miniseries based on "the Prisoner", with Ian McKellen portraying Number Two. I tried doing a search for the topic on the forum and came up empty, which I found very odd. IMDB link: www.imdb.com/title/tt1043714/

Being a resident of Canada, I got to watch the full season (all 6 episodes) of The Prisoner remake. I have seen a lot of people bashing it for being a remake, understandable, I won't watch a lot of British remakes (Wicker Man comes to mind). But, I have to say, I quite enjoyed it. They brought it into the now while managing to play homage to the original. It was strange and wondeful, like the original. The village set was really well conceived. I thought James Caviezel did a reasonable job as 6. The role was played different to McGoohan's 6. Ian McKellen was nothing but fantastic as 2, really comes across as a heartless bastard! Overall, not a bad reinvention of a british classic, and at least there were British actors in it! Loved the irony of the number of episodes. And I loved the fact it didn't over stay its welcome, like some other shows. 7 out of 10 for me - 'be seeing you.'
