I wasn't that bothered about seeing Daybreakers - the whole vampire genre is utterly saturated at the moment. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by it. A good cast certainly helps - Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe (as a good guy for a change) and Sam Neil. But this film had more than some quality acting - it genuinely took a tired genre and threw in some fresh ideas to come up with an engaging and watchable storyline. For a different spin on the genre this is certainly worth a watch. 4/5

The vampires didn't sparkle did they? I'll be glad if they didn't.

I don't think I'll be rushing out to the Cinema to see this one, as you said the genera has been over done lately, The number of 'Twilight' copycat books has been huge. I'll probably get it from Block-Busters in a few months time.

I wasnt overly thrilled with this, and I am not sure why. As a concept, it was interesting. Almost an extension of I am Legend (the book) when Vampires are the norm. The casting was good, as was teh actual performances themselves. Maybe I spent too much time playing "spot the Aussie" and trying to work out which of the aforementioned Aussies were in fact Kiwis, maybe I spent too much time trying to work out how an ostensibly dead Sam Neill was going to die....and Sam Neill almost always dies. This just didnt work for me

Can't be done. Blade is going to be too busy over in Forks cleaning up the Twi-hards

Tinkerbell could take out the Twilight Emopires. Actually, Tinkerbell has a few homocidal ideas, she would probably enjoy it
