NASA scientists are greatly excited over the discovery of high concentrations of Silicon in the rocks on Mars, this could be an indication of primitive Silicon lifeforms three Billion years ago.

I've always known NASA wasn't looking at the big picture. ;D
That's a good render Pete, good work. It reminds me of this:

Thanks both Mr G's spot on, it is a Paint Shop Pro panting. Relyt that vid was brilliant, I expected it to be serious when it started, but when the whole rover spun round I almost fell off my chair laughing.

I was under the impression that "rendering" just meant an illustration.

I was under the impression that "rendering" just meant an illustration. Since the computer came along the word has been hi-jacked and now it's meaning has changed. This is how Wikipedia defines the word: Rendering is the process of generating an image from a model, by means of computer programs. The model is a description of three-dimensional objects in a strictly defined language or data structure. It would contain geometry, viewpoint, texture, lighting, and shading information.

Thanks R.B. and Anim8tr. I painted the landscape and the fallen FM the size you see it here, but the Rover was painted much bigger (this allows me to add loads of detail) the finished Rover was reduced to 40% of its original size before adding it to the background scene.

Lupe's back! Finally I have a happy point to my odd day. First, I missed a step getting off a bus and tore a circle of skin off my left knee two inches in diameter. Then I come home to find that my dog, instead of being in the backyard, is waiting on my front porch.
