Now I'm a big fan of Tim Burton, so I was looking forward to seeing his darker more adult orientated version of Alice in Wonderland. Unfortunately it just wasn't up to his usual standards. The story was all over the place and actually quite dull at times. Mia Wasikowska who played Alice was very mediocre and Johnny Depp who is usually excellent was also pretty bland playing such an iconic character as the Mad Hatter. Helena Bonham Carter was good as the Red Queen, but Anne Hathaway (White Queen), Stephen Fry (Cheshire Cat) and Michael Sheen (White Rabbit) were all decidedly lacking in energy. It was as if the entire cast (except HBC) were all too tired to bother trying.
For a Tim Burton film with an amazing cast (other mediocre supporting actors included Alan Rickman, Matt Lucas, Paul Whitehouse and Timothy Spall) it was distinctly under par. The only thing really that was decent was the special effects. Bitterly disappointed.

My brother warned me off this one, he took his youngest to see it and said it was dull.
