Ive got a puzzling problem. I use a prepay 50p coin meter for my electric in my rented studio flat. In the past 2-3 months the needle has hardly moved. Ive only had to top it up about 50p a week or so.
Now i dont use hot water, i dont use heaters in this warm summer. Water and lighting is inclusive in my rent. I dont use the electric cooker. Because i work 12 hours a day for 5 days a week im hardly home, security have their own cooking facilities they can use. When i am home im asleep much of the remainder of the time.
All i have is my computer and associated peripherals, and a few fans to keep me cool in the summer. Thats it i have no stereo or TV.
I did speak to a family member and he says i shouldnt worry, computers and a few fans hardly use a lot of electric its all the cooking and water heating and stuff that eats the money and all that is in the rent.
During the winter though the needle drops like an anvil when i put my 2 bar heater on. During the summer it hardly moves if at all.

Sounds like a good problem to me! Heating, cooking, kettles etc use up a lot of electricity, so if you're not using any of those then it would make sense.

I wouldnt say computers use hardly any electric at all. my electric goes down about 40-50p per day on my meter when my PC is on so I wouldn't go believeing that one.
Mind you we have an electric oven and a large tv on all evening.
