The Eve of the War site (not the forum) appears to be down. I tried going on the home page and I just looped back to the forum. eveofthewar.co.ukDoes anyone know what happened to it? Is it coming back?

Now, there were 2 sites with the same name: eveofthewar.co.ukeveofthewar.comBoth of them have basically died, I was never a member of the .com site but I was a member of the .co.uk site and people just stopped visiting the administrator started up a games playing site and he stopped visiting, thing broke down and no one was there to fix it and eventually the main site got a nasty virus and the administrator just shut it down leaving just the forum. but no one visits that any more either. I imagine something similar happened to the .com site.

That's too bad. I managed to visit it only once before it shut down, and really liked it. So, the Eve of the War forum is all but dead too?

I imagine something similar happened to the .com site. I remember eveofthewar.com. It was an excellent site. My favorite section was its extensive gallery, but the gallery just broke down one day and never came back. I then joined its forum to both ask about the gallery and become involved with the site's community. I was a member of its forum shortly before the entire site vanished. There were no messages beforehand to explain what would happen or anything like that. It was there one day, and gone the next. I do remember, however, that there were a lot of malevolent members that would start threads which included links to various non-TWOTW things to download. These were nothing but some very nasty viruses. I got infected and warned the forum shortly before I lost control of the computer. I learned very recently that the viruses I had were an old virus that was created by a dead anti-virus software company- this virus advertised the software and proved to be a mistake for the company. The other virus, however, was very sophisticated. I forget its name, but once downloaded it quickly seizes control of almost the whole computer. It then makes copies of itself and distributes them to other computers, making it impossible to track. It was also difficult to get rid of. Each time someone fails to kill it, it grows stronger and eventually makes it impossible to start the computer in safe-mode. Luckily for me, however, my older brother is a wizard with computers. After a long battle, he killed the virus. He speaks of it now as a formidable, but admirable, opponent. About two years back or so, the administrator of eveofthewar.com visited this forum and announced that the site would be reborn, but we have heard nothing since. It was not long after eveofthewar.com went down when I found this forum.

Sherlock wouldn't be a suitable name. He acts as though he's the God of artificial intelligence, and his knowledge of computers has really gone to his head lately. For example, he looks down on those who are "computer illiterate," even those who are 50 years old. That's about all I'll say about him though. He may be annoying in that respect, but his usefulness makes it almost worth the insults.

And every member is equally responsible for its brilliance! Everyone give yourselves a pat on the back for being great!
