I tried to sit through this opening show and enjoy it but sadly i could not. The show reminded me of series 2 of Space 1999. Oooh its monster of the week! I'm sad to say i think the show is bloody awful sci-fi. If this is the so called cream of Brit sci fi then i'd hate to see the worst. I cringed through it from beginning to end.
Here is a show that could have some really scarey stories and really be aimed at a more mature audience that grew up with the show. Like Battlestar Galactica. Instead they aimed it at 5 year olds. And yes its stuck on earth AGAIN!
The new assistant, i dont like she comes across as arrogant and smug. Not likeable at all, in fact she matches David Tennant thats as irritating as ever. We shouls have had an older Doctor with maybe younger assistants to do the running and shooting. Also whats with the insistance that the Doctor is snogging everyone in site. Hes an ALIEN, and neutral alien sexually too.
i tried, i realy did but i'm 100% against this show totally. people slag off Sylvester Mcoys Doctor. Well actually DT's Doc isnt that far removed in my eyes, childish stupid and lacking.

Gotta say I haven't really watched much of it at all since Eccleston quit - just caught the odd episode here and there.

You know, Dr Who hasn't changed that much at its roots and probably never will. It's a bit of daft escapism and sometimes it's jolly good. I like Sci Fi generally but I am finding it harder and harder to settle on any one show and keep with it. They are all, (without any exception that comes to mind), deep down the same sort of thing. I could never be a Trekker or a Whovian. I'm probably getting a bit old for that level of fandom and my weary mind and attention span are already stretched to breaking point in day-to-day life as it is. Besides that, the old 'Who' episodes, despite not being as 'pretty' as todays, are usually better written. Basically, Russel T Davies is a bit of a hack! There, I said it.  That said, I am not 'totally against it'... I'm just more indifferent than some. |

It got personal on so many levels and your last PM left a lot to be desired. Leave me out of this. For your infomation, I came back here just for this as I had some friends tell me about this comment. Leave me out of your insecuriites Rusti, just becasue you think I won't be aware. Mods delete as you see fit, I don't care. Just eave me out of any conversation with anything Rusti and I disagree on in fututre, it's not good form to comment on me when I don't want to be involved anymore. |

Ashe, I don't see a need to delete either post - we're open and honest here. I don't think Rusti meant anything nasty by that comment, but I can understand you not wishing to be involved with any further discussions and we respect your wishes.

Well when you blamed me for holding a grudge against you just because i hated Doc Who and you dont i thought a disclaimer was in order. Go back to your little pit of Paranoia and stay there. You cant handle the fact that people have differing views to you so you had to throw a paddy and deleate your account. Sorry you showed you true mettle by running away when it got too hot, well either be a man, come back and take it on the chin, or continue licking your wounds hoping that people will leap to your defence. Rusti. This has nothing what so ever to do with something as Childish as Doctor Who and yu showed you true colours when you xame back when I decided to leave. I want no place where an angry man is allowed to get away with his vitoral, hate speech and out of control obessions.
I left to keep peace, Rusti tried to goad me out and if not paint a picture of me that was unfair.
That Ashe Raven Copmment was uncalled for and immature at best. I rest my case here. Yeas of cause Rusti PMEd you about it, but no one even bothers to ask me about hings either do they? Such as the PM's I kept from everyone else on this frum beecasue prvate matters should remain just that.
Just for the record Rusti, as it;s sucgh a big deal to you, Doctor Who is mindless fun for me so yeah I enjoy. There Happy? Now end the gruge or am I goingto become your latest rant a week like Speilberg and Hines before me?

Sorry, Ashe, but the words "PS: I dont hold it against anyone if you disagree with me on this. (Ashe Raven take note.)" was not a personal attack, it was merely Rusti saying that he didn't want to cause offence to anyone and especially to you. So I stand by my post that there was nothing to delete.
I know you left a month ago - if you'll recall myself and many other people on this board (including Rusti) asked you to stay. The moderating team locked the thread and told both of you to chill and stop with the personal attacks. You chose to leave, Rusti chose to stay.
Ashe you're going to have to learn to be less sensitive. Nodody's out to get you on here - you and Rusti have differing points of view, that's all.

What is it with you two?  Both of you wind each other up something chronic all the damn time and I'm getting a little tired of the both of you dragging this board down with you. We are not here to delete posts between two posters who can't leave each other alone for five minutes. Ashe, you say you left to keep the peace but are obviously still watching this board (hence these posts, I guess) and I am going to have to ask you to stop sniping from the outside. You are welcome to come back, if you want, but do it properly or not at all. This board is members only. Rusti, you are still a member here so I have to ask you to stop responding to this kind of thing. I'd ask Ashe the same if he were here as a full member. Richie is right, both of you are too sensitive and it has to stop. Both of you have often made valid contributions to this board (and wotwonline) and it saddens me that you insist on keeping up this stupidity between the two of you. I don't care how slighted either of you feel and what about, cut it out, please. |

I'm yet to see the new series of Doc Who. It seems we (Australia) will get to see it in July. I like Doc Who - if only for the Daleks and Cybermen!  |

Ashe, I deleted your post this time because I asked you to join up properly or stay away. You did neither.
As for me, from now, anyone else starts ranting (whoever it is and whatever their POV and about whatever) on my board will no longer be welcome here and will be ejected immediately and without warning. I'm sick of this crap.
