You know, if it were me, I wouldn't be going so much for real world accuracy in this piece. People will kinda expect to see people in fancier uniforms and I am not convinced that you wouldn't have been able to still see them around, whether khaki was standard issue by this time or not. Also, Wells' soldiers didn't wear khaki. Simple as that. I would have the red and bluecoats in this piece, regardless of real world accuracy. After all.. *whispers* there wasn't actually an invasion. All my own opinions of course.

After all.. *whispers* there wasn't actually an invasion. thats a bloody lie and you know it! After all the powder mills in waltham abbey definitely arent there anymore so they must have been used to blow up a tripod as Wells said. he wouldnt lie would he? hehe. Oh i dont know , im far too influeneced by what other people say. im a bit confused as to the direction to take really. i kinda want it to be accurate'ish but i a also want it to look good and the red coats are a far more sort 'romantic' (you could say) version of the good old english soldiers and far more easily recognisable.

That's my point, matey, about the romantic side of it. I would say the artillery would be in their blue uniforms. I'd scatter a few red coated chappies amongst them and leave it at that. Anyway, as these guys will be home service, there's no reason why they couldn't have adapted dress uniforms.

Romantic uniforms = more glorious death! I'd do as you want. Maybe you could make a few with red uniforms and a few without.

and just what colour is your anorak Er... Green . Though I'm more of a multi-pocketed waistcoat kind of guy ;D. And as for Nerfy's outrageous suggestion that there wasn't really an invasion, I'd like to point out that I have no memory of what happened in 1902. That means the government must have erased my memory, which means that there must have been an invasion. Also check out the suggested dive for 1/4/2004 on this page: www.argonauts.org.uk/what/index.php?pageNum_all_news=1&totalRows_all_news=25It must be true! Khaki may indeed be more accurate, but red looks so much more stylish (I may even consider changing the colour of my anorak to match, though if anyone wants to seriously see the coulour of my anorak then start a thread on small arms of the period..... .

There we have it then. The red 'traditional' colours would be more aesthetically pleasing. I think we'd all pretty much agree.
