Hi Thorgrimm, an interesting arguement against Verhoven's movie there, with many salient points and the like.
Personally, I love the movie, I think it's very clever. And I'll post a rebuttal once I've got some sleep and after work tomorrow. By the way, I love Heinlein's book too -
"I'm a thirty second bomb! Look out! I'm a twenty five second bomb! Uh oh!" (etc.)

It still could be good - the special effects seem back up to the level of the first one instead of the cheap made for TV crap of the second one. Will just depend on the story and the acting.

Hmm, seems to be trying to get back to the first one with all the silly military adverts and things (which I thought were good for the first film, nice and original) but I cant help feeling "boring, seen it before!" there doesnt seem to be much difference in this new film and im not particularly looking forward to seeing it, I think ill wait untill it comes on the tv in a few years, it'l probably turn out to be one of those channel 5, 9pm films.

Well, I thought it was pretty good. Not as good as the first one as the budget wasn't there to back it up, but a helluva lot better than the second attempt. Good storyline with decent acting and ok effects. Not bad.

I agree. There were a fair few chuckles to be had with the 'news flashes' that peppered it and some pretty decent FX.
Shame there wasn't more use of the Marauder power suits, though.
