A few years ago on a distant and now defunct forum, i used to do an hour/ hour and a half long semi live web based radio show. Long before this DRM business shut the whole thing down. Well a program called Ultrabroadcast means i can restart the whole thing again and this time all the music is legal. I was thinking maybe once a month/ fortnightly show, with news and music and me! All in the name of scifishock radio! Downside is only a small one, you need the ultrabroadcast player to listen to it on. Its free and there is NO spyware. ubroadcast.com/ download the player and checkout the stations. We can have topic talk, a QnA via the forum and even interviews with forum members, plus Pokie can get his music aired to a portion of the world! What do you think? |

Im having probs with the software, but i'll get it sorted out. Watch this space for more details.

Good thing is i can upload stuff to my webspace to transmit instead of direct from my computer which would take bandwith. Thats the only issue and thats BB speed.

I'm up for that Rusti. Sounds awesome. As long as we don't have to listen to any more of those fr*ggin ads from Setanta. What kind of music will be aired? Will we be able to send in requests? Q'n'A sounds good. Phone in competitions, so we can make ourselves sound like complete idiots with our lack of knowledge. |

Music will be whatever i feel like at the time. I usually stick to a theme, so one show may be funky stuff, one show more metal stuff etc.
Yes i do do requests (as long as a) i have the track and b.) i can download it fast enough if i dont!)
interviews and stuff may be prerecorded as an Mp3 unless i can find a way to do it live.
QnA's will be via the forum and i read em out over the radio.

Right bad news.
The program i was intending to use uses a credit card as a form of ID. Now im buggered if im going to use a CC to use as an online id, whos to say im not going to be ripped off. Now although i believe this program is a legit site im not going to go down this road.
Sorry guys the show is over before it begins.
(Edit: i may look at other options so its not all over yet)
