Obviously the novel by good old H.G.
Followed by the Musical, Orson Welles's Broadcast, Spielberg's WotW film and then Goerge Pal's WotW film.

oIt's got to be the novel for me, and again, Jeff running a close second place. same here, but i have to say that S.S. version, with all its flaws,captured the tension very very good and i enjoyed it a lot. Did not like Asylum version and havent seen/listen/read other renditions, so i just cannot tell
