Did people see the same War of the Worlds film that I did? I thought it was fantastic! The bit where you first saw the alien was scary, the heat-ray whooshing into action and evaporating people. I thought the dialogue was good and Tom Cruise did a good job at acting out the parts.
Oh...wait, the Pendragon film? Total pants. Some highlights for me were...
1) The hero running towards the fighting machine at the end of the film like Jesus on the cross - could he look anymore female? 2) The reaction to the flying fighting machine on the boat....disgust, lots of face pulling - but no actual running away. 3) Thunderchild with the 500 foot British flag on it. 4) The dancing skeletons. 5) The British soldier with the american/cockney accent 6) The old soldier who sounded like Star-trek "Scotty"'s grandad....who couldn't decide if he was Scottish or Irish. 7) The Martian
The best was the animation. Total class...
RickyB (who just found this site from the old War of the Worlds Forum). 3)

I will say it again. Tim Hines takes himself and his poorly executed film WAY too seriously. I will even go so far as to say that Blackmoon did Pendragon a favor. I would imagine millions more people have seen the parody than have seen the original. And, IMHO, at least a small percentage of the folks who saw the parody but not the original bought/rented the original as a result of seeing the parody... just to see what it was all about. Blackmoon should try and calculate those numbers and send Pendragon a bill for the finders' fees.
