Sometimes I wish I hadn't started my effort at all then I could add my two penn'orth without sounding competitive. Good lord, I've just realised you're this guy: steveas.deviantart.com/I've seen those images and some test animation on youtube (or vimeo, I forget which) - superb work! Your fighting machine design and that of Lonesome Crow are two of my all time favourite designs. I'm currently planning to build a model tripod to animate, as well as a stopmotion puppet Martian, and it's difficult when being aware of really excellent designs like yours to not be influenced. Quite frankly, if there was going to be a proper big-budget film of WOTW, they wouldn't go wrong getting you to design it. Incidentally, your 'Thunder Child' looks rather like a twin-funnel version of the late nineteenth century Norwegian coastal defence battleship 'Tordenskjold', am I on the right track?

West coast US only. Don't think I'm going to drive across an entire nation just to see it.

New TV Spot online. Looks like they actually re-used much footage from the first movie. Can't say that I am super impressed. What do you guys think?

I've seen enough to give it a chance. I'll be watching for it to appear on DVD.

First review appeared on facebook. Can's says how independent it is, we all remember the fake 5 stars reviews on Amazon when the DVD was released in 2005. Anyway, seems this film is superior to the 2005 version...
I just returned from viewing this film at Cinema 21 in Portland. Forget Tim's 2005 fiasco. This was a complete vindication. The story is told from the POV of the last living survivor, Bertie Welsl, in a 1965 interview. Once you accept that premise, settle in for a fast moving pastiche of stock footage images blended with re-creations, ala the History Channel, with images of the Martian machines woven, fairly believably, into the ancient film. The SFX are very well done; not standing out like a sore thumb especially as the Martian machines make their march burning everything in their path. The dialogue of "Bertie" are the exact words written by Wells in his novel and the actor brings a sense of authority and gravitas to his role. Yes, there are some niggling little things that history buffs and film nerds will be quick to latch onto (I saw Shirley Temple in one scene). But, that can be a source of fun when the Blue-Ray comes out. If you love the source materiel as much as I do, WotW:TTS is an excellent tribute to H.G. Wells novel and I recommend that it be seen when it gets to your town.
