Yes- this isn't actually a science fiction movie. It's about some US Marshalls (or sojers- can't quite remember) on a training mission, who go off route looking for a "house of ill repute", run into a bunch of cajun trappers (including Brion James of Blade Runner fame) and scare them with blank rounds. The trappers then start hunting the Marshalls and picking them off one by one. In a very similar fashion to the Predator movie. So- that's the link- as far as I know, the first Predator film was actually based on Southern Comfort (which is now finally on DVD in Widescreen- was 4:3 for years). So there.  |

Good film, the national Guard gets killed off by an assortment of ways, shot , stabbed, killer quicksand, man traps. Lovely Jubbly.
A Walter Hill film.

Y'know. I've been thinking of adding a 'general movies' section to the forum.
No.. I don't mean movies about Generals... I mean movies that don't fit into the Sci Fi And Horror Genres.
What does everybody think? Do you think there is enough call for it?

i like that idea there's a lot of different movies i like...westerns , war and comedies...wonder if a poll might be a better way to find out would save time trying to read every post to see the aye and nay

Great film and great idea for a general movie section. I'm sure I'll start cluttering it up with war movies, westerns, comedies and quirky dramas to name but a few.
