A brilliant early 80's action thriller/ cop movie about a super helocopter which eventually formed the basis for the modern Gunship.

Starring Malcolm McDowell, Daniel Stern and Roy Scheider and written/ produced by the guys who did the same for ALIEN.

I loved this film and i prefer it to Airwolf. The helocopter battle at the end has never been bettered IMHO. The acting although not exceptional is solid and welll done. And the story pretty standard but ejoyably so.

I loved Blue Thunder and yes, much better and more gritty than Airwolf. There was a spin-off TV series which was pants though, but we'll just forget about that. Roy Scheider was excellent as usual and Daniel Stern put in a career performance as the rookie 'JAFO'.
