I think my first album was a Larry the Lamb story one and the first single a double A-side of 'I tawt I saw a Puddy Tat' and 'I'm Glad that I'm Bugs Bunny'. Ahem. First proper album I can't remember for sure (The Stranglers 'Black and White', maybe?) but the single I got first was this... www.youtube.com/watch?v=POl4vFp-5os

The first record I ever bought for myself was a 45rpm single, the theme song to "Astro Boy". Not sure how old I was... around 8 or 9 perhaps? I no longer have it, but here's a picture from e-bay: Oddly enuff, I just uploaded an Astro Boy picture to one of my websites today, for an Anime festival my SF club is doing: www.freewebs.com/vkff/ff08.htmSo if you're in Kansas City on July 26 (2008), drop in and say "Hi"!

Oh looky - that Star Wars record has the Enterprise from Star Trek on it... I'm too young for records myself, though I happen to have one - Jeff Wayne's the War of the Worlds.

It wasn't until about 6 years later when I bought TWOTW. My parents wouldn't buy it for me, for fear of it giving me nightmares etc...plus the fact, they weren't that interested in it!! (Sorry Jeff ) So I saved up my paper round money and bought it myself; it cost me £8.50 from Boots! I think I was about 13 at the time.
