I,ve just been watching ALIENS again after the longest while and while it's in no doubt a great movie i still have issues with it turning the Zenomorph's into nowt but cannon fodder 
but anyway...
As the scene unfurled set in the medic lab where Ripley and Newt are trapped and menaced by a pair of pissed off Facehuggers i was taken back to late 1986 and my second viewing of ALIENS at the local fleapit.
I knew what was coming up unlike it would seem the vast majority of the audience that night and just casually looking around at my fellow patrons i noticed a young woman who it seemed was trying to crawl under her seat in fear, that to me (and the reason for this long winded post) summed up for me the sheer power and fear Cinema can and sometimes still can instill in people.
I,ll give ALIENS credit, even now it's special FX's can still run rings around any CGI bollo and makes me pine for it seems the disappearing art of model making.
Anyway needed to get that off me chestbuster, be great to hear of other examples of the power of cinema.
