what can i say, the DK is one of the best films ive seen in a long time, a looong time. Its a rarity that it both adds to and supersedes the original Bat Begins.
I wont tell you the story, watch it unfold for yourselves in its rich twisting way right up to the amazing, shocking yet logical end.
The acting is amazing, Bale is the haunted Anti-Hero thats faced with ever more desperate choices. Ledger is as good as they say, he plays the Joker with maniac aplomb, a psychotic clown with a black black sence of humour, (watch out for the magic trick)
The girl who plays Rachel Dawes is better than Cruises Missus by a mile. Gary Oldman has a much bigger role in this playing the stressed out good guy trying to keep all the pieces together. Caine as Alfred provides the moral compass and dry wit as does Morgan Freeman as Lucious Fox head of the Wayne Company.
The guy who pays Harvey Dent is the biggest tragedy, when everything he plans goes to hell and he becomes the horrific Two-Face you can almost sympathise with him.
Fine performances by all, everyone gets their moment of glory, no one is throw away in this even the secondary characters are believable.
The action is well paced, the scenery is amazing they use the Chicago skyline like they use the Montana mountain range in Cowboy movies. Breathtaking.
The action is all done in camera, very little CGI. In fact the only time i noticed CG in the film was Two Faces 'face' but ever then it was done very well.
i'm going to stretch it here.
9.5 out of 10. A jaw dropping movie that really works.
