I love the new Rambo film, unashamedly violent, and story simplistic. However that doesnt detract from the fact that the whole film is superbly shot and choreographed and edited. Technically the film is excellent. Story goes like this: Rambo is approached by a bunch of missionaries to take them into Burma, into a region where a notorious Burmese General is butchering his way across the land. A week after he drops off the missionary's in Burma hes told that they have gone missing. A team of ex-SAS/Royal Marines and US Rangers mercs are sent in to find them. Rambo tags along and as you can imagine all hell breaks loose. The key word of this film is violence, it is an incredibly violent film. You see kids, getting shot and thrown infront of flame throwers. You see what happens when someone gets hit at point blank range by a 50. heavy machine gun (SPLAAT!) Lots of heads exploding and arms and legs going all over the place. You see people getting fed alive to starving pigs. A nice film you show your Granny. But thats Rambo. One of the SAS guys is played by Warden Ackerman from Red Dwarf S8 of all people. 'Come on you bast*ard, is that all you've got you C*nt!!!!' Seems to be his general mood in the film. In all do NOT watch this with a brain, you do not need it at all. If you want a slickly done all action blood n guys boys own derring do then watch this. Point to watch for: There is a scene near the end where i actually punched the air and pointed at the screen and said out loud. 'Yeah! Take that you bast*rd, eat sh*t n DIE! And 101 uses for a British Tallboy WW2 bomb! 8/10 for sheer action done really well.

Nice review. I'd heard it was the most violent film ever made, and played it down until I saw it. I was still shocked at how violent it really was. It was great! haha. I really liked it and it brought back some respect after the generally disliked 3rd Rambo film (although I liked it). Cant wait to get this on DVD and see all that blood get splettered about once again I knew I knew that guy from somewhere! haha

I do have to say however I'm a little worried as to why he is making Rambo V though. It seems very very unecessary, and it's leaving it wide open to ruining the series. He's made his point, he still 'has it', just don't go ruining it Sly.

He's made his point, he still 'has it', just don't go ruining it Sly. If he makes it to the quality of this then i wont be disappointed. I like the idea that he goes full circle and finds himself in a situation similar to that of the first Rambo film. After all the theme of the series seems to be coming to terms with things and ending back at the beginning so you can start afresh.

It's like Rocky. To my mind, he should have stopped at 4. This latest Rambo sounds like a good end to the series. But, this being Hollywood, they'll fuck it up by never knowing when to stop, as usual. If he does make a good part 5, it'll be the first time any film of that number will be any good that I can remember.
