Mrs Poyks asked me to put a pole up for our new washing line yesterday. Feeling rather inventive, I decided to build a 7 foot tall mini-pylon to do the job! ;D I had a load of old steel gazebo poles on top of the garage roof, so I fetched them all down and set to work with my angle grinder and welder. As it's a kind of terminal tower, I've used a triangular 'pushing foot' design that will withstand loads of weight on the washing line without the need of concreting the feet. This means it just needs to be pushed 6 inches into the grass and can be moved for lawn cutting etc. I'm rather pleased with the result; I've got some pylon building out of my system, and Mrs Poyks has a superb high tension washing line!!
