Still the best horror movie made by the best director who ever lived...Imo of course.

It's an absolute masterpiece. Even though it is extremely different to the book and caused a major rift between Kubrick and King, it is still utterly spellbinding and works beautifully. The later mini series is decent and a damn sight more faithful to the novel, but it is no where near as atmospheric and creepy as Kubrick's.
