Those look interesting, I'm not too sure about how I'd go making them, in any case I prefer sticking with the "classic" four, speaking of which, here they are (at last )! TIE Bomber, XI Advanced (Darth's), Fighter and Interceptor!

I just realized, the render quality sucked because I didn't turn it up to best! Oh well, I'll try again in a day or so. Those look great shame to hear about your render quality set too low... I bet you laughed. ;D does that mean you have to start all over again?

Some what, luckily it was just a case of setting the TIEs up again, and I've reedited my post above with the new higher-quality render which looks much better. Here's a link to it as well.
It's a fleet!

Wow! Those are amazing! ^^ It's been a long time since I've seen your work, and you've improved a lot over that time. Those are lovely 3D images with great detail to them - must have taken you ages to render. Keep up the great work. Due to my sixth form physics teacher, I now forever accociate TIE fighters with the greek letter phi: <---(The ancient greeks knew their Star Wars) Sorry for the randomness, I just felt the need to share that. ^^

Why, without randomness the world would collapse. Well, maybe the world of randomness would collapse. The entire world of everything else would remain the same, except it would be inherently boring.

It's been exactly 2 weeks since I created my TIE fighter - so to celebrate I'm renaming this thread "Star Wars Ships" and expanding! Here is my newest creation - the X-Wing: Now this one I'm a bit iffy on, I found it harder to make than the TIE fighter and when I finished it up a few hours ago I thought it was terrible. However, now it's coloured and all (and I took a detour part way through making it to construct a simple little R2-D2 type droid), I think it looks quite good - in any case if I keep criticising my own work I suppose I'll always think everything I do is sub standard. Anyway, what do you think?

Looks good to me, I think you could improve it if you added some hard highlights along the angles just to break up the flat greyness of the craft, but apart from that it looks good and it certainly looks like an X-Wing. Well done.

Maybe add a bit of framework on the canopy, and some fuel/power lines along the wing (I just checked out my XWing toy which is about 15" long (from about 7 years ago))
