Today is September 21, Wells' birthday! So let's raise a glass to the (very) old man, because if he was still alive he would be about 143 or there abouts. Happy Birthday Mr Wells!

Aww, what a lovely surprise! Thanks guys! much appreciated. I am indeed 143 and some would say I look bloody good for my age. Life underground in a one-room wooden apartment can get rather cramped at times, but I have many little friends that keep me company so that's nice, plus the rent is very very cheap. I have lost quite a lot of weight since moving in which is nice but the lack of daylight is playing hell with my complexion. It's not so much a fleshy-pink these days, rather a greyish screwed-up paper bag texture and pretty dry and flaky since my pot of Nivea for men ran out 62 years ago. Thanks to Nerfy (I can call you that right? I know we haven't met but I just though...) for setting up this website, I browse every now and again but only registered today after seeing this lovely thread for me You can call me Big Welly if you like Who'd have guessed our birthdays were next door to each other! hehe! It's a great site but I can't help thinking the section dedicated to my works could have a little more action but beggars can't be choosers and all that. Once again, thanks for the birthday thread, I didn't expect it all! P.S. To Steven Spielberg, ...you bastard.

Can anyone explain where the first 'O' is?
The G is the hedge The first 'O' is where? that tiny tree?! surely not. The second 'O' is flying saucer The second 'G' is shadow and burn mark The 'L' and 'E' are the hedges on the right.

Can anyone explain where the first 'O' is? The G is the hedge The first 'O' is where? that tiny tree?! surely not. The second 'O' is flying saucer The second 'G' is shadow and burn mark The 'L' and 'E' are the hedges on the right. I was having a bit of trouble working that out too, so I overlaid the Google logo and added perspective The first 'G' works fine. The second 'o' is as you said the saucer. The second 'g' although misplaced a little is the shadow and scorched ground. I think the 'l' is supposed to be the road, but again misplaced a little. And the 'e' is obvious. But the only thing that makes up the first 'o' is that collection of buildings and hedges, not very clear though is it? If I had done it I would have stuck a pond surrounded by hedges or something like that.
