Wait, who owed the money to who? they owed you the money? I thought you were saying they went into administration having just a £700 debt.

Borders owed me over £700 but my measly few hundred didn't put them into administration - they owed millions. I should also point out that it's just Borders UK who went under (they are a separate company to Borders US and AU).
