Well I just came back from the opening night viewing of 2012 and I have to say it blew my mind. I mean particularly the effects, I don't think I've been more flabbergasted over graphics than I have with this film. They weren't necessarily the most photo real graphics ever but the sheer volume of work gone into it was simply unbelievable. The story was pretty good at first then turned incredibly cheesy towards the end. To put that in perspective, there was more cheese in the ending than there was water. But really really enjoyed it.
Plus after coming out of the screen we got given free pass to any film at any time because of some apparent 'disturbance' we encountered that neither I or my girlfriend noticed so that's a bonus!
Anyone else seen it yet?

I've seen some ads on TV for it, it looks rather interesting, I might go see it.

Yes great film, cheesy but fun. I was gobsmacked by the CGI!

I have to agree with you Rusti, it was one hell of a ride. Edge of your seat stuff!
But, the minute you actually think about any part of it with logic and intelligence, the whole film falls apart... So don't and you will enjoy it.
A must see on the big screen, nothing else will do it justice!

Crap. Edge of your seat crap.
Don't get me wrong, being a CGI animator I love special effects, but that's not why I go see a film. If that were the case every CGI effects Hollywood blockbuster would be fantastic. If all you want is a CGI candyfest then this film is for you. But the sheer scale of the CGI only adds to it's crap value in my opinion
Like the three episodes of the new star was trilogy

I guess I'm too much a thinker to enjoy something like this.
Nothing like a good old Pixar Classic to keep me happy

Just watched 2012 last night. CGI was amazing and the story wasn't bad - your usual cheesy Armageddon stuff but an enjoyable romp. Danny Glover was a little wooden as the president but John Cussac is always great to watch.
