The first known Mongolian translation of The War of the Worlds is now available from the Mongolian National Association for Control of Infectious Diseases for $16 (US) per copy, including postage and packing. Discounts available for orders of five or more copies. Please contact the association president, Prof. P. Nymadawa at nymadawa@gmail.com for ordering information. The association's special edition includes illustrations and a parallel English translation of what appears to be the authoritative Atlantic edition of 1924.
Yes, I have a copy and its very well done.

Sounds good!
I really like Dr.Zeus his site (http://drzeus.best.vwh.net/wotw/) with all the covers and artwork from TWOTW versions around the world. Does the Mongolian version got artwork in it?

Yes, it has a familiar Johan Briande piece, plus a map and a couple of photos of Horsell Common and the sand pits taken from the H.G. Wells Society website.

I believe the cover art is by Ricardo Garijo, one of his cigarette cards or trade cards as they are now called.

I wondered about the cover art. I didn't find a credit for it in the English-language portion of the text, but then again its a Mongolian edition...

I don't know why he drew a British Kent class heavy cruiser for the Thunder Child. Those cruisers didn't appear until the late 1920's.
It's so fun to point out useless naval tidbits such as these.

Sometimes artists won't allow historical accuracy to interfere with aesthetics, I suppose...

And sometimes they just can't be bothered to do their research. ;D

They should hire me to do the research for them. I could use a job that doesn't involve mindlessly punching keys on a cash register that's older than I am.
