Hello all. As part of my attempt to make a new site worthy of this forum, I have decided on my first video review. It will be a review of BBC's 1992 Ghostwatch. The help I need from you guys is that I am lacking Vid capturing and editing software. Anything that can help me make the thing happen, as cheap as possible, would be cool. Can anyone please help?

If you're planning a very simple video, then Microsoft Movie Maker should do, it should be free on every PC computer.

Search for 'virtual dub' Tony, its a free video editor. Its not as advanced as premiere (premiere is far too over-complicated for the regular user anyway) but will have a heck of a lot more control than windows movie maker, which is pants in my opinion.
I haven't tried virtual dub myself, as I have premiere, but I now a lot of people that do use it on my 3d forum so its meant to be pretty ok.

To capture video, use the Firefox Download Helper add-on.

Only for Windows Vista or earlier, the Win 7 has been removed and the optional download has only half the functions. I second Pokies choice too i use that. Great bit of vid capturing tech.
