Yes, although it does refer to Ogilvy making this walk in the book Pendragon didn't have to take this literally when coming to the filming and direction. We know these things.....we don't necessarily need to be shown and all the walking takes up far too much time within the film : (

So just the walking around was tedious?? not the whole film?? ;D The whole film of course is a masterclass of tedium but the incessent walking here there and bloody everywhere takes the tedium to the 'ninth degree' d.f.

I have seen the film now, although once I vowed never to waste my money on it, but someone was kind enough or perhaps cruel enough to lend me theirs. I was distracted while watching the perambulations of various actors people by a rather large bluebottle which had just died on my windowsill, so I watched it instead........ I remember that bluebottle with great fondness, it probably saved my life that day.

Same here. In a fit of insanity I rented the DVD and was forced to reread the book afterwards to get it out of my brain. The only competent actors, in my opinion, were the guys playing the narrator (in some scenes), the curate, and Ogilvy. If Ogilvy, a redshirt of a minor character in the book, is the only likeable person in the movie, then it has some issues.

I treated the film like a comedy, because it was a bit of a joke!

I was thinking more on the lines of a tragedy, It was tragic Timbo got his hands on it.

I used to think that good source material could save a movie... then I saw Hines's WOTW...
I didn't even make it all the way through the movie. In the hands of a good director this story could have been great. Hines botched it and made it very difficult for any new indie attempts at a period WOTW film to get past the filming stage.
My breath isn't held for the new film.

Well as usual i am looking forward to it (really hoping its better than the first attempt).Who knows, maybe it might surprise us all and be ok.You know me and the Victorian period.Just hoping its better this time as Hines is doing it in the narrative as the books written.Could be a better way of going about things perhaps,we'll see.Still no release date from Hines, was meant to be last October. Read that he doesn't want to rush things so i'll be positive and hope thats a good omen : ))
