I recently bought a comic book that appears to be a crossover between The War of the Worlds and Superman. I thought it was fairly good if a bit short, and it seems to have several references to both the book and the 1938 radio broadcast. All in all, I enjoyed it for what it was.
Have any of you read a copy of this comic and, if so, what did you make of it?

I haven't read it myself, I've seen images though, isn't it from the late 30's/early 40's?

It's from 1998. It commemorated the good book's 100th anniversary.

The comic book has small nods to the book, but as to be expected it has more to do with Superman's early history than WotW. There were several homages with the book that amused me. It's set in 1938 America, where Woking inexplicably is also, Lois Lane is a feisty young reporter, and Lex Luthor is an assistant to Professor Ogilvy from the original novel. The art is good for the sort of thing it is, but I found it a tad too short.
