I am working on my first war of the worlds Blender tutorial, the theme will be the chapter "In the storm". You will need blender 2.49b and 2.5.3 beta.
But here is my question, what would you like me to cover next? What scene would you like to recreate?

I'll look forward to seeing your tutorial. CGI is something I would like to get into.

I've been studying the programs already, I'm just getting to grips with creating the 3D objects. It's a bit daunting at first because it's so different from other programs. I'm going to get seriously hooked!!! Looking forward to the fighting machine!!

In the Storm Tutorial Chapter 1: “The boring bit” First of all it's important that you understand what you're dealing with. 3D is fun to get into, especially if it's free, and Blender 3D is free, but it does, like all software require a level of understanding. It's not like you can switch it on and say, hey presto I can make 3D. Blender is like any tool, it's complex to start with but the more you come to understand it, the easier it gets. It helps to know what your dealing and I could bore you with the little details here, but I wont. I'll leave that to someone else. So here's a guide to get started. First of all, go to www.blender.org and click the Blender 2.53 icon, this is the alpha version of Blender we will be working with. Once on that page, look to the right of the screen and click “download 2.53 beta” and download what you feel comfortable with, I prefer to you the beta Zip and work from windows. Once downloaded, open the zip and drag the folder to a folder of your choosing, I prefer to use my desktop. Okay that's done, open the folder with Blender in and click on The icon marked “Blender” Woah, scary huh? Look at all those buttons, the layout, the screen? What are you supposed to do with this thing? How do I navigate? How do I make my first Martian Fighting Machine? Patience Grasshopper, baby steps first, and no it needn't be as daunting as you think. Just take an hour or few to get used to the layout. Look at it examine it, then you will need to understand how it functions and how it works for you. This is where a great little site comes into play. Blender Cookie. Okay go to this link: www.blendercookie.com/getting-started-with-blender/This is your first step into a greater world. Take the time to go through these short tutorials to guide you though the interface. This is invaluable, and you'll need it to progress further and then if you feel like it, look through htttp://www.blendercookie.com and see what else they have on offer tutorial wise. This is the best site to go to and I learned much if not more from this place. Explore, experiment, don't get frustrated and then we'll move on to chapter 2, reference and materials. Have fun
