I was browsing Youtube for horror stuff when I found this movie trailer for "The Whisperer In Darkness". It's an adaptation of the H. P. Lovecraft story of the same name, from the same guys who adapted "The Call of Cthulhu" into a silent film a few years ago.
Needless to say, I'm very excited for the final product, which is scheduled for October this year. ;D

Looks good, I like the period style filming.

What makes the HPLHS unique is that they try to only use technology that would be available in Lovecraft's time. Nothing in any of their movies is CGI. Just goes to show what can be achieved with a fairly low budget. A lot of filmakers could learn quite a bit from movies like this. CGI alone does not make a movie good.

That looks very cool. Love the style of it. Definitely one to look out for.

I loved their first film and the moment i heard this was the next I've been terribly excited as this is my most favourite of all Lovecrafts stories.[/glow]

I'm with you on that. It's a shame, perhaps, that Hollywood tends to shun anything Lovecraft. I'm not even sure why that is.

So the closest they can do is referance it like in hellboy because they are too afraid of trying to do a subtle gradual mood based film and failing.

I've seen a few Lovecraft films.
Trouble is, most of the ones I've seen are rather visceral and standard horror stuff.

A new trailer for "The Whisperer In Darkness" was released on the web yesterday.
Every time I see something new for this film, I want to see it even more. ;D
