Now I've just confused myself. If something is strange to us, do people outside the forum find that something normal, or stranger?

Peter ... not meaning to sound defensive, but what was strange about this? I ask because I want to be a better filmmaker, so please be honest. I had a professional stunt coordinator look at this and he gave me a critique on the action, but was there anything else? Thanks! Oooo! That was interesting... Strange but interesting.

Well I don't know if you noticed but at the end of the film the guy on the floor...... his eyes glow with electric sparks! I would call that pretty strange ;D
No need to be concerned, there's nothing wrong with the film and it certainly leaves you wanting to know more about what's going on. I am presuming there is no more? or do we get to find out why this guy's eyes glow like an overloaded Energizer Bunny? ;D

*LOL* Okay, I gotcha. There is a whole backstory to the production and the film: The production backstory is that this was done as my submission to Spielberg's On the Lot reality show on the Fox network back in 2007. The criteria was pretty much that it had to be under 5 minutes, and it couldn't be porn. Fox spent 18 months collecting 30,000 films online and then whittled all those down to 50 people who came in and made script pitches to a panel of judges. Out of those 50, 16 were chosen to participate in the reality show where filmmakers made a film each week and competed against each other. The winner got a $1,000,000 development deal - not just $1 mil to make a film, but $1mil to develop a script and get it ready for preproduction. The total production time for this film was probably about 4 days, if you compressed all the time together. About 2 hours of fight choreography, 6 hours of shooting and then some very long days of editing. I just barely made the deadline for submission by hours Btw, the little blonde driver and the assassin both had black belts: she had black belts in 2 martial arts and he had black belts in 5 martial arts. Obviously, I didn't make it in, but some of my competition were experienced professionals who could put together budgets in the thousands of dollars for crew, lighting, fx, and equipment rentals. I spent $350 on this film and most of it went into luxury car rental for the opening scene and some pro lighting. Everyone worked for free and the woman that owned the house is a Walmart employee and was gracious enough to put on a good spread for our dinner break with her employee discount. :~) The backstory for the film is that Jake is a mutant. The US government knows about the existence of mutants, but they are not "commonplace" like they are in the X-Men. The government considers them a threat to national security and is on a campaign to quietly eradicate them from human society. This attempt is the 3rd attempt by the government to kill Jake. I haven't figured out the whole film yet because I only had a couple of weeks for writing, pre-production, shooting, editing and FX and a very limited budget, but this part of it had a beginning, middle and end, so it was what I went with. Well I don't know if you noticed but at the end of the film the guy on the floor...... his eyes glow with electric sparks! I would call that pretty strange ;D No need to be concerned, there's nothing wrong with the film and it certainly leaves you wanting to know more about what's going on. I am presuming there is no more? or do we get to find out why this guy's eyes glow like an overloaded Energizer Bunny? ;D

Thanks for the clarification, It does make more sense now. Did you find out what your final position was in the competition?

No. We didn't get "ranked" per se. Everything was pass/fail at level 1 ... pass/fail at level 2 ... pass/fail at level 3 ... etc ...
