A starship tactical game made back in 1999. Full of atmophere and fantastic design. All the design was based on and inspired by the artwork of Peter Elson. End credits. Fill of the origonal designwork. (not origonal music.) Yes: Homeworld. End credit theme. Opening prologue (very atmopheric) Concept artwork website: shipyards.relicnews.com/hw2/concept.htm

Ah, Homeworld. That takes me back. I didn't play it, but I would watch my older brother play it. He had a book that contained the information of each of the ships in the game. I would look over these ships, and I quickly memorized them. I then classified the ships in the game for my brother, which gave him a tactical advantage.
Memorizing those spaceships got me into memorizing warships, and later, tanks and aircraft.

End credits. Fill of the origonal designwork. (not origonal music.) As you say not the original music, this is the Canadian folk singer Loreena McKennitt (Great voice) I have the original music, A YES album called THE LADDER there is a demo of the homeworld game on the same CD.
