Oh dear...
According to the report the sub was traversing what they thought was deep waters. Apparently the Admiralty's charts were wrong... great.

That's because they're probably using Crimean War charts (MoD cuts have forced them to sell all their iPhones so they can't use Googlemaps anymore).

That sub's brand new, and now it already needs repairs? If that's not an embarrassment for the Royal Navy I don't know what is.

It's not necessarily damaged at all, they're inspecting it from the look of it.
And its free now, being towed back to HQ

But yes it's certainly an embarrassment for the Royal Navy, if they can't even navigate around the British isles without crashing what chance do they stand in hostile waters??!!!!
