I was really looking forward to this Landis/Pegg/Serkis comedy. I was hoping for a return to form for Landis after his lengthy absence. But then I saw this review... www.totalfilm.com/reviews/cinema/burke-and-hareBugger. I'm still going to watch it and pray that the review is woefully unjust, but it doesn't bode well.

Can I make a suggestion that doesn't involve violence, or is this the wrong crowd for that?

You never know. Maybet eh review just doesnt get black comedy, and therefore all the jokes fell flat. Maybe its not meant to be a laugh out loud farce. Judge it on its own merits. Plenty of good films were panned

Good point and I will still watch it (haven't had a chance yet though) and give it a go.

I agree. Sometimes I love films that the critics didn't and vice versa.

That site also gave Jackass 3D three stars, so I guess you could also use that as a reference for their type of preferred humour
